Liya is gorgeous… Definitely a trailblazer!!!
Liya Kebede of Ethiopia.
Liya Kebede became the first black model to be the face of Estée Lauder and has been featured on the cover of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, in ad campaigns for Givenchy, YSL, Luis Vuitton, H&M and The Gap, to name a few.
In 2009, Forbes ranked Liya Kebede as the 11th highest earning supermodel in the world, having earned $2.5 million dollars in 12 months.
But Liya does more than make alot of money and define beauty, she is also a mother of two and Goodwill Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. She is also the founder of the Liya Kebede Foundation a movement dedicated to reducing maternal and infant mortality in developing countries.

i love katy perry. i like her energy. her music. her look.
this is not katy’s signature look, however when i saw this picture i thought it was quite amazing. not all pink hair & bubble gum-ish OR dita von teese-ish, but more of an actual beauty shot. she looks like an actual model. me likey.
i PREFER her soft wavy hair & red lipstick look the best (you know that whole dita von teese thing), but this works for her.
she’s kinda refreshing. i can’t lie i like her!
this woman is my muse. :o) i love her & i wish she were still alive, i would LOVE to do her makeup.
i miss you ms. phyllis!!!

I have never been able to use facial scrubs with granules. I’ve tried MANY MANY brands & different types. Creamy scrubs, scrubs with walnut shells, gel based scrubs, scrubs with the little beads that burst on your skin - none of them seem to work. They always break me out and I get cystic pimples, can you say “MUY MAL!”? So now you understand why I steer clear away from them, right?
My love for LUSH products is NO secret, but when my favorite LUSH sales associate (Miriam in Georgetown) suggested I try Ocean Salt I looked at her like she was LOCO IN HER CABESA!!! (sidebar: excuse my random spanish, I grew up in LA & this is what I do from time to time) She proceeded to tell me how great it is and blah blah blah - don’t get me wrong she did a FANTASTIC job of selling it to me, I just wasn’t trying to hear it.
Then Miriam pulled out the big guns, the product demo on the hands!!! She had me (and my sister from another mister, Suzie - who is my monthly LUSH shopping partner) scrub one had with Ocean Salt & the other with just cleanser. The results were impressive! The hand I scrubbed with Ocean Salt was much brighter, looked healthier and even had a bit of a glow - NOT TO MENTION IT WAS SO SOFT. The best part was that the salt dissolved as I scrubbed my hand and it didn’t hurt. I WAS SOLD!!!
I agreed to buy it & split it with Suzie. Miriam mixed it up for me (you have to mix it up prior to use as the salt is on top of the product to avoid it dissolving) and put some in a separate container for Suzie. When I got home I washed my face with my normal cream cleanser then followed up with Ocean Salt. I LOVED IT! I’m so sold that when Suzie and I went back for our March date to visit Miriam, I BOUGHT ANOTHER JAR!!!

Ocean Salt has coconut fats and avocado that are both GREAT suppliers of moisture for the skin. It also contains lime juice, vodka (YES, VODKA, HOWEVER PLEASE DON’T INGEST THE STUFF! LOL) and sea salt, which will help with clarification of the skin as well as healing.

So, do yourself a favor and IMMEDIATELY get yourself some Ocean Salt, follow the directions for usage to a TEE (use it on a damp face, following cleansing- I do it whilst I’m in the shower) and enjoy enjoy enjoy. I have one word to describe LUSH and Ocean Salt *wait for it… wait for it…* WINNING!!!
If - no WHEN you try it out let me know what you think. :o)

P.S. - If you live in the DMV area, go visit the Georgetown LUSH store and ask for Miriam, she’s AWESOME & a great sales rep for the company!!! Tell her Meagan sent you (she won’t know who that is, I’ll remind her next month). LOL
